9-11-2001 event

        How would you feel if you were on a hijacked plane taken over by terrorists? What would you do if you knew that plane you are on, is purposely being crashed into a building? On September 11th 2001, there were 4 planes, that were hijacked by 19 terrorists. Two of the planes targeted the World Trade Center, the third plane targeted The Pentagon, and the fourth plane targeted the White House. This is a day that hijacked airplanes attacked buildings and shocked everyone. (September 11 attacks).

        The events for flight 11 on 9/11. At 7:59 am flight 11 took off. However 15 minutes into the flight the hijackers injured 3 people and took control of the plane. Then it crashed into the north tower at 8:46 am local time. It hit the 93rd through the 99th floor. Hit the north tower straight, and that killed all the people on board (American Airlines Flight 11).

       This is the events for flight 175 on 9/11. First at  8:14 am flight 175 took off. Next the plane got hijacked between 8:42- 8:46 am. At 8:42 am started heading for the south tower. Finally it crashed into the south tower killing all 60 people on board at 9:03am, and the plane hit the south tower on an angle (United Airlines Flight 175).

       These are the events for flight 93 on 9/11. At 8:42 am flight 93 takes off. Next it got hijacked at 9:23 am. Then a few minutes later Passengers took a revolt, and at that time the plane headed towards Washington. Due to the revolt of the passengers the hijackers made the plane hit the ground at 10:03am in  Somerset County, Pennsylvania (United Airlines Flight 93) (September 11 Attack Timeline).

       The events for flight 77 on 9/11. At 8:20 am flight 77 took off, and the plane was one third full. Next the transponder was shut off at 8:46am. Then got hijacked at 8:52 am. Finally the plane hit the pentagon at 9:37 am and that killed all the people on board (American Airlines Flight 77) (Flight 77 ).

       That was a scary day for everyone aboard the planes, people in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the citizens of America. These shocking events brought out the strength and courage of America and its citizens. We saw the horrifying acts of terrorism and recognized and acknowledged the support of the first responders trying to help, rescue, and protect the victims of the attack.

Pokemon

Pokémon  is a card game that is pretty fun. That card game has its own show. That I watch every new episode the first time. When it comes on. They do have they own Pokémon battles. Like Pikachu versus snivy, krockidile vs. sawk, and Pikachu versus Seperiur. Those were all fun and amazing battles to see and there were surprising strategies from Ash, Trip, Stephan. Can you guess who won the battle of Pikachu or Snivy, who won this battle Krockidile or sawk, who won the battle of Pikachu or Seperiur.   

The battle of Ash Pikachu and Trip’s snivy will now begin. First Ash told Pikachu to use thunder bolt but it did not happen. Then Trip told Snivy to use tackle and scored a hit. Pikachu tock some damage. Next Ash told Pikachu to use bolt tackle but it did not happen. Then Ash told Pikachu to use iron tall and it worked and scored a hit snivy tock a lot of damage but snivy used vine whip and that finished off Pikachu.

The battle of Ash Pikachu versus a wild snivy begins. Ash told Pikachu to use thunder bolt and it worked but snivy dodged that attack. Snivy used vine whip and leaf storm and both scored a direct hit. Finally snivy used attract and hit Pikachu making Pikachu go goggle eyes at snivy. Next Ash used Tepig told tepig to use ember but Snivy dogged it. Snivy used attract and the same thing happened, and Ash switched Pokémon to Pidove. Pidove used air cutter and it hit. Then Pidove used gust and it hit. Then Snivy used attract since they are both girls attract did not do a thing. Finally Ash through a poke ball snivy just had a bit too much energy. So snivy escaped being captured. Then Pidove used air cutter and it hit. Then Ash used another Poke ball. It worked so ash caught a snivy.  

TV and movies

       Had you ever had nightmares from something you had watched? Have you ever learned something new by watching TV? TV shows and movies can give your kids nightmares, but it will entertain the kids for a while, if it is a show or a movie the kid likes. There are advantages and disadvantages to children watching TV and movies.

       There are many advantages to TV. One advantage is that TV shows give your children entertainment. They keep them busy for a long time. Another reason is they can keep kids calm and relaxed. A third reason is that some TV shows can teach people things. Some of the stuff they teach us is how to speak a lot of languages, count, tell which color from which, and they can teach us new words we don't know.

    However, TV is also bad in many ways. One reason that TV shows are bad is that they can make kids forget what they need to do. A second reason on why TV shows are bad is that kids might watch shows that they are not old enough to see yet. Another reason is that the shows might say bad words that you do not want kids to hear. The final reason is that certain shows will give kids nightmares.                                                                                                                      

     Watching movies can also be good and bad. The advantages for movies rated y7 are that it will have amazing graphics, great entertainment, and based on a game that you may like. A disadvantage is that it might make young kids cry, have nightmares, and make them very scared because of what they saw. Good factors of pg-13 they give your kids action to watch, and surprising stuff in the movie. A few negative factors of pg-13 movies are they will give your kids nightmares, they will hear bad words, and they will  have stuff in the movies that will have stuff that you do not want your kids to see.

     Overall, TV and movies are good and bad for kids.  We need to think about if we are allowing our kids to watch too much or too little TV and movies. Parents should let there kids watch a certain amount of TV a day. So the kids can still get there entertainment, and learn new stuff, but the parents have to be careful on what the kids watch.   

Boy scouts

       Have you ever wondered what the advantages of a being a boy scout are? In Boy scouts we do stuff that you need to know in real life. The lessons you learn will be really helpful for you in many ways in life. There are many advantages of being a boy scout.

   One advantage is that you get to earn badges related to life skills. One badge is the first aid badge. To earn the badge we had to watch a video about first aid skills. Then we had to practice the skills which included CPR. It is going to help in life because if you see someone gasping or no breathing you know how to keep the heart pumping. Another badge is the fire safety badge. To achieve it you have to know what you would do in a fire, and how to escape from a burning building. There is also a general  safety badge. The skills that this badge teaches you how to handle and deal with sharp objects.These abilities can help in life to prevent injuries and keep your family safe from a lot of dangerous situations.

       Another advantage is that you get to learn some outdoor skills. The boy scouts  teaches you how cook with a aluminium oven and over an open fire. When you go camping you learn team work by setting up your campsite and tent with members of your troop. Another outdoors skill is that you and some people in your troop get to make a meal with just what you brought. Some of the adults there teach how to tie some knots. You learn how to start a fire,control the fire, and how to safely put out a fire.

       The third advantage of Boy scouts is helping people.This makes you feel good and the other people will appreciate the good deeds that you did for them. As a scout you gain self-confidence, be trustworthy to the people you helped. They are some of the advantages of helping people.

      Life skills, outdoor skills, and helping others are some of the skills you learn in Boy scouts. There are different advantages to each skill you learn. Those skills will come in handy at least once in your life some where. That's why there are many advantages of being a boy scout.

Dreams

The lost Puppy

Authors Note: This creative story was written to show improvement in sentence fluency.    



  One day in a cold house there was a puppy alone for two hours. A gust of wind blew open the door and the puppy ran out. Without thinking, the puppy went the wrong way when he thought he was going home. Then the puppy got to a house that looked like his home, but it wasn't his home. Next, the puppy's owners realized that he was gone.

     The next day the puppy ran away from this house and tried to run back in the direction he came. He ran  the wrong way again! Eventually, the owners sent out a search party for there cute little puppy, but the search party did not find the dog. When the search party was about to give up they found the puppy just outside of the neighbor hood.

     Since the puppy was home his owners were very happy. During the night the house was broken into and the puppy was kidnapped. Five hours after it happened, none of the puppy's owners knew he was missing. With the family so sad and angry, they called the police to tell them as much as they could.

     Searching everywhere, the police chief and his men did as much as they could to track down the thief. Sadly, nothing worked. As soon as they were going to give up, they saw the puppy they were looking for. However, the puppy got hurt. After he was fully healed, the owners of this dog were happy to see him. Finally, the puppy saw his owners. He ran towards them and they were both very excited to see eachother.

Ms. Carvers point of view

Author's Note: This piece is a part of a book called the The Great Shark Mystery.  I have re-written the scene in Ms. Carvers point of view. 

I gathered some of my workers to an important meeting.

I started off by saying "We need more people to come to our park so we can fix the tanks and do not go out of business or sell the park. Any ideas?"

Mr.Wilson says "How about we hand out fliers about the animals in the park?"

I said "No because we already have it on every newspaper all over the world."

Next one of the workers told everyone there "How about a ride about the great white shark."

"No." I told him.

"But it is a great idea." One of the workers said.

Then the boxcar children sat down outside of my office.

Finally I yelled "The one answer to afford the ride is to get more money some how."

"Sorry I yelled I just don't want to hear any ideas that we can't afford." I said.

Then I left my office and saw the kids were there sitting outside my office.

"Did you hear anything?" I said.

"Yes." The boxcar children told Ms. Carver.

"How rude. They ease dropped on a important meeting. That's nosey." I thought.
